FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the process to book with you?
After I receive your inquiry form if I am still available for your date I send over my collection guide which includes 6, 8 and 10 hour package options (please note 6 hours can’t be booked on Saturdays during high season May-October). We then schedule a call to idiscuss your day in more detail - this is where I get to hear all about the plans for your wedding day, ensure we are a good fit and I can answer any questions you may have. Once you are ready to book I send a custom proposal and a 25% non refundable retainer and contract is needed to secure your date with the next 25% due mid way and the balance due 4 weeks before your wedding day.
For lifestyle sessions and engagement sessions a 50% retainer and contract is required to secure a date for your shoot with the balance due the day before the session. If you are interested in shooting inside a studio I have a few great ones I am happy to recommend. The studio fee will be in addition to my session fee and responsibility of the client to secure.
What if we need to reschedule our session?
My lifestyle sessions are booked Monday-Thursday during the summer season. I am in close contact with my clients in the days leading up to their sessions - for outdoor sessions we will of course reschedule if it calls for rain. If you happen to book hair or makeup for your shoot please let me know so we can be mindful of cancellation windows when deciding to reschedule.
For family sessions with young kids please keep in mind the time of year. Early May and late August and into September are great months to shoot as the sun sets earlier so we can keep them happy and avoid over extending them past their bedtimes. Depending on the location lighting is best 1-1.5 hours before sunset and on a super overcast day ideally we would start about 2-3 hour before sunset depending on the location.
Life happens - if you need to reschedule due to illness you are able to one time with 24 hours notice. A second reschedule (aside from rain) would require a new 50% retainer to secure a new date.
How many images will we received in our gallery?
For lifestyle and engagement sessions approximately 100+ images for the full gallery for weddings about 80+ images per hour of active shooting.
Every wedding day is unique and your gallery will be too!
Do your wedding collections include engagement sessions?
My wedding collections do not include an engagement session but one can be added on at any time. I highly recommend an engagement session as it is a great way for us to connect and get to know each other before your big day arrives. I promise you two will be professionals and so much more comfortable with the camera on the day of your wedding. You can use them as an opportunity for your save the dates, sprinkled throughout your engagement party, a wedding website and your wedding guest book.
Do we need to add on a second shooter?
A second shooter can be beneficial to a wedding day depending on your timeline (I can help you figure this out!). If you would like both your mornings captured at separate locations, you are having over 100 guests and guests candids are important to you or if you are not doing a first look. A second shooter essentially allows me to be in two places at once (they can cover cocktail hour while I cover family portraits etc…) they add on more perspectives, angles, moments and images to your gallery.
How would you describe your shooting and editing style?
I love a mix of everything as I truly believe each part of your day requires a different approach. When possible I will always guide you to the best lighting and step back and document the moments unfolding naturally but also I will never interrupt a genuine moment happening in front of me. When it is time for any portraits I will direct and pose but also allow moments between you to happen that are unique to your love and connection. I will never expect my couples to know what to do as a majority of them have never been in front of a camera in this capacity before. I believe communicating and building that trust with my couples through the pre planning process, their engagement session and especially on the day really makes them feel that much more comfortable and confident in front of my lens.
My editing style has evolved through the years and I am drawn to a more true to life, elevated and soft editorial style so your photos feel timeless for years to come!
